How to allow users to Run only specified programs in Windows 7?

You can allow users to run only specified programs in Windows 7 operating systems. It is up to you if you want your shared computer to allow users to run only specified programs in Windows 7. A shared computer in an office, for example, can be set in the same way if the company does not want the employees to run all types of programs. You can allow the users to run only specified programs in Windows 7 by using the Local Group Policy. However, you cannot do this in the Home editions of Windows 7 as it does not provide the Local Group Policy Editor.
Click on the Start button.
Type “gpedit.msc” in the search box of the Start menu and press the Enter button on the keyboard.


Local Group Policy Editor will open. Scroll down to “User Configuration”, “Administrative Templates” and then “System” on the left hand side of the window pane.
On the right hand side of the window, under “Setting”, navigate and double-click on “Run only specified Windows applications”.



Select Enabled from the window.
Click on “Show” under Options.



The Show Contents window pane will appear. Here you can type the applications you want to let the users run.
After you are done, click on the OK button.
Close the Local Group Policy Editor.



After this, if someone attempts to run an app which was not specified by you, he will get this error message:



This feature to allow users to run only specified programs in Windows 7 is the best at preventing the users from accessing applications you don’t want them to use on a particular computer.

[How To] Block programs in Windows 7 using Registry Editor

Follow the simple steps given below to block execution of any particular program on your Windows 7.
1.Click Start, and then click Run.
2.In the text box, type regedit, and press Enter.
3.Locate and then click the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\Explorer
4.In the right side panel right click on some empty area and point to New, and then click on DWORD Value.
5.Type disallowrun, and then press ENTER.
6.Double-click the DisallowRun value that you created in the previous step.
7.Type 1 in the Value data box, and then click OK.
8.Create a new HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\Explorer\DisallowRun subkey.
9.Right-click the following registry key, point to New, and then click Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\Explorer.
10.Type disallowrun, and then press ENTER.
11.For each program that you want to prevent users from running, create a new string value in the DisallowRun subkey . Use consecutive numbers to name the string values (starting with 1), and use the executable file name for the program as the data for the string value.For example, if you want to restrict users from running Microsoft Internet Explorer:
1. Go to the following key in Registry Editor:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion \Policies\Explorer \DisallowRun. Then right click in the right side panel and create a new string value. Type 1, and then press ENTER.
2. Double-click the 1 value that you created in the previous step.
3.Type iexplore.exe in the Value data box, and then click OK.
12.Quit Registry Editor, and then restart the computer.

How to "Delete administrator Password" without any software

Method 1

Boot up with DOS and delete the sam.exe and sam.log files from Windows\system32\config in your hard drive. Now when you boot up in NT the password on your built-in administrator account which will be blank (i.e No password). This solution works only if your hard drive is FAT kind.

Method 2

Step 1. Put your hard disk of your computer in any other pc .
Step 2. Boot that computer and use your hard disk as a secondary hard disk (D'nt boot as primary hard disk ).
Step 3. Then open that drive in which the victim’s window(or your window) is installed.
Step 4. Go to location windows->system32->config
Step 5. And delete SAM.exe and SAM.log
Step 6. Now remove hard disk and put in your computer.
Step 7. And boot your computer

Disable Turn Off option in windows xp

Disable Turn Off Option ..and ALT+F4 option

REGEDIT->HKEY_CURRENT_USER->SOFTWARE->MICROSOFT->
WINDOWS->POLICIES->EXPLORER

THEN GO TO RIGHT SIDE AND BY RIGHT CLICK OF UR MOUSE CREATE NEW DWORD VALUE WITH NAME NoClose and after creating click on it and give Value Data 1.

And Reboot your pc ..now your Turn Off option is disabled ..to Enable it again ..go to that directory by regedit ..and simply delete that created NoClose and Log Off Your User and Log in again ..your Turn off Again Working.

You can get it back:

Click Start then Run and type "gpedit.msc" without quotes. This opens the group policy editor.
Then go to:
--> Local Computer Policy
--> Computer Configuration
--> Administrative Templates
--> Network
--> QOS Packet Scheduler
--> Limit Reservable Bandwidth.

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth.
It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab i.e." By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."
So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.It works on Win 2000 as well.

Folder Options Missing?

Many of us sometimes find the folder options missing in windows explorer due to some virus or trojan effect.
Here's the solution-->

Open Run and then type "gpedit.msc".
Now goto User Configuration > Administrative templates > Windows Component > Windows Explorer.
Click on Windows Explorer you will find the 3rd option on the right side of screen "Removes the Folder Option menu item from the Tools menu"
Just check it, if it is not configured then change it to enable by double clicking on it and after applying again set it to not configured.

SPEED UP ACROBAT READER (ALMOST LIKE NOTEPAD)

Adobe Acrobat reader always consumes more memory when it starts. The reason behind is, it loads all the plugins, even the plugins that you do not use. This trick is to remove all the plugins from the plugins directory to elsewhere. Hence, whenever you open Acrobat reader it directly opens the files without loading any plugins and the speed is just like Notepad.

1. Go to the installation folder of acrobat reader
(C:\program files\adobe\acrobat\reader\.. whatever)

2. Move all the files and folders from the "plugins" directory to the "Optional" directory. (I repeat.. cut and paste the files NOT copy & paste).

Also make sure that acrobat reader is not open else it will lock the files and not allow you to move the files).

Now your acrobat reader will load very fast and almost as good as notepad.
